info
I'm a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of clinical experience in service to others. I have been a consultant to the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, a clinical supervisor to Social Work Associates (ASWs) and have spent my career working with people through the most challenging moments of their life. I have spent time working with people across the spectrum of life from infertility, miscarriage, premature birth & prenatal loss to adjustment to terminal illness into grief/loss.
I spent the first 10 years of my career working for the federal government and large healthcare systems before transitioning into private practice. I desire to help people who are stuck, who are struggling to find the balance of work, marriage & motherhood (been there!), who are facing unexpected life transitions- loss, infertility, grief, divorce, anxiety, depression, adjustment to a new baby (3 hours of sleep is total TORTURE). I want to normalize and support women through their transition into motherhood. I want to support my clients through the relationship struggles that are bound to happen as the challenges of life unfold.
I offer sessions via Live Video on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Tuesdays & Thursdays my hours at 9am to 3pm. Wednesdays I see clients 12 Noon to 7pm.
Someday in 2022 I will return to in person sessions in the South Bay Area of Northern CA.
Personal Info
While I know you're here for YOU, sometimes knowing a little bit about the person you'll be opening up to makes the process a little easier!
I am a California native who has lived in both SoCal & NorCal. I did venture to Baltimore for grad school but Cali is home!!! I have been married since 2007 to my high school boyfriend and together we have two daughters and twin boys. We are biological parents to two of our kids and fost/adoptive parents to two of our kids.... we struggled for years with secondary infertility (infertility after having a baby) and then we opted to become foster parents. After adopting we unexpectedly became pregnant with #4. Our journey has not been easy and at times life and parenting 4 kids has taken a toll on our marriage. I'm not going to suggest anything to you that I wouldn't try or haven't tried myself!
Additionally, I understand the struggles of being a working mom. I have a strong desire to do all the things. Trying to live up to the expectations of society, keep everything going for the family, remember to pick up snacks for the class party, feed everyone healthy food and somehow manage to have enough energy left to get it on with my spouse once the kids go to bed?! AHHH! The struggle is REAL!!!
The decision to go into private practice was motivated by my desire to find balance in my own life AND provide care on my own terms. The fact that I have been able to make this dream a reality continues to amaze me.
